Candi Hairlites making it big through facebook

My cousin Maureen had started making these colorful beads that clip into girl's hair abbout a year ago. They are strings of different colored beads that are all different lengths that clip in the hair. She use to just make them for fun. She recently advertised them on Facebook by making a fan page and they are taking off from there. She couldnt believe how many people were buying them! Just from facebook, she has gotten alot of business! A salesperson from a high retailer found the fan page and contacted her about selling candi hairlites in their store. This is a huge step for her business and its all thanks to facebook. It just shows you that advertising through facebook can really get you far!

  1. That is really great for her! This actually sorta happened with some girl from my high school, her and her friends from school started a hairband company of some sort and they have a group on facebook and a website and their product was used on an episode of Gossip Girl last season.

  2. wow! This is awesome! It's nice to hear how Facebook can help small businesses. I know the store I work at has a Facebook page with many fans, and it is such a great way for small businesses to advertise themselves and their products. I hope your cousin's business really takes off and that Claire's starts selling her product!

  3. That is so weird how something so little can turn into something so big and well known because of one simple little website. Even after just reading your blog I am tempted to go out and see what these look like! I don't think Facebook can boom a business into full effect but it definitely can help a lot. And clearly from your story it is helping your cousin. Good luck!
